Do you only renovate bathrooms?
NO. We can also renovate all other wet areas including; ensuites, toilets, powder rooms and laundries.
Do I need a development Application (DA)?
No, not to refit or reposition fittings and fixtures within a room. DA may be required if you are planning on structural alterations.
Is my house likely to have asbestos sheeting?
If built between 1940 - 1982, than yes. For homes built between 1982-1990 there is a significant possibility of asbestos products having been used. If you do not know the history of your home eg; build date or possible renovations already undertaken, than the safest approach is to have the bathroom sheets tested for asbestos. Read here for more info on what we do
How long will my bathroom renovation take?
Quality bathroom renovations generally take 3-4 weeks. Whilst we endeavour to finish renovations within this time-frame, delays can sometimes be expected due to production time of certain custom made products.
How much does a bathroom renovation cost?
There are many components that affect the cost of a bathroom renovation. They can be divided into 2 main categories. Building costs and fitting and fixtures costs.
The building costs includes all the trades, labour and building materials. These prices can vary depending on what fixtures and fitting you choose. For example, rectified edged tiles take longer to lay than cushion edge tiles. Therefore, if you choose rectified edge tiles you can expect to pay more labour costs for the tiler than if you choose cushion edge tiles.
Fixture and fittings are the items you select for your bathroom, such as tiles, accessories, cabinetry, tapware etc. The price of the fittings will vary, depending on the items you choose. For example a custom built vanity will cost more than a pre-made vanity off the showroom floor.
Other factors that affect costs are bathroom refits (re-installing plumbing fixtures in existing positions) versus a bathroom reposition (Moving plumbing fixtures to new positions). Repositioning plumbing fixtures will increase bathroom costs. So you can see that, each bathroom renovation cost is individual, which is why we provide you with a complete itemised quote. As a guideline, an average size ensuite refit will cost from $18 000 and an average size bathroom refit will cost from $24 000
Do you do partial bathroom renovations?
NRBR are a complete bathroom renovation service. This means we don't usually carry out partial bathroom renovations. If you are wanting to replace only your shower, bath, vanity or just a few tiles, unfortunately Northern Rivers Bathroom Renovations is not the right fit for your project.
Can I purchase my own tiles and bathroom fittings?
Yes. You best know your taste and budget and you may have a supplier that you have dealt with before. We can also give you details of our preferred suppliers if needed. However, if you supply your own fixtures and fittings, NRBR will not be able to warrant these items. NRBR will also not be held responsible for faulty items and the delay they might cause if the product needs to be replaced.
I need to work and won't be at home during the day, will this be okay?
